About Danny McClure, DO

Background

I am licensed and board-certified in psychiatry and neurology. After earning my medical degree at A. T. Still University in 2013, I then completed my residency at Maricopa Integrated Health System, specializing in psychiatry.

My Care Philosophy

I believe my role and obligation to each one of my patients is straight forward. First, I need to ensure I am making accurate diagnoses and providing education regarding what these diagnoses mean for each patient. Second, I need to help patients understand the various treatment options for each diagnosis and the advantages, disadvantages, benefits, and risks of each treatment option. Thirdly, I believe I should make treatment recommendations based on approved treatment protocols as set forth by my governing body, the American Psychiatric Association. Fourthly, which is probably the most important, my obligation to each patient is to work collaboratively with each patient, considering their treatment history, experiences, values, and wishes, to create a treatment plan that addresses my patients’ primary concerns. Fifthly, patients and I monitor their progress and treatment responses, collaboratively, making adjustments to the treatment plan, as needed. Finally, I aspire to control my patients’ symptoms aiding a high level of functioning for a sufficient amount of time to allow us to consider slowly removing medications.

Why I Chose Mental Health

I am passionate about my practice of medicine because I feel the highest level of fulfillment from seeing my patients’ lives improve and knowing that I had, in some small way, a positive impact in the life of my patient and the countless other lives that each one of my patients influence. Additionally, I count it a high honor to have my patients share with me their lives and experiences, both good and bad, and feel there is a sense of healing that comes to patients not only by me providing treatments, but also in hearing their stories in a nonjudgmental manner!

Why I Joined Serenity

I love the culture at Serenity! Everyone cares about our patients. This starts in leadership with our CEO, Ben Pease, and our CMO, Dr. TeeJay Tripp. They care for patients and want our patients to experience a professional and caring environment. They have designed an organization filled with staff who genuinely care for our patients. I also am very proud to be a practicing psychiatrist at Serenity Mental Health Centers where I can offer cutting-edge treatments (like transcranial magnetic stimulation and ketamine infusions) to provide our patients the best opportunities to live their lives freely and unhindered by their symptoms and distress.

Interests & Activities

I really enjoy my wife and family. I have grandchildren who are a true blessing to me. I enjoy exercise, outdoor activities, disc golf, and pickleball. A unique passion of mine is flying remote-controlled airplanes and drones. I also really want to learn Spanish.

Over the last couple of years, Dr. McClure and I have built a great connection. Our communication has always been open and honest, and I genuinely felt that Dr. McClure had my best interests in mind. We worked together to create a plan that suited me, adjusting it as life threw curveballs our way. Dr. McClure was consistently there with suggestions and support, making sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. I came a long way from where I started on this journey and can honestly say I’m in a much better place today. Thanks Danny.

All I can say is WOW! Thank you so much Dr.McClure. I had my first visit ever a few days ago. He really took his time to understand what I was going through and took extra care working with me as a pregnant woman. His advice was clear and concise. I also very much appreciate him breaking down the pharmacology of my meds and how they work. The road to healing is a long one but not an impossible one. If you are struggling and need help this might be the place for you.

The best of the best. I’ve met with a few doctors, and he has listened to the most, he’s given the best advice, and I’ve just had an outstanding experience with him. I cannot speak highly enough.
