About Stella Ifepe, PMHNP

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Stella Ifepe, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC's path into mental health care was shaped by witnessing the remarkable transformations that effective treatment can have on a person's life.

Education and background

Stella began her healthcare journey as a Certified Nursing Assistant, where she discovered the profound impact of patient-centered care. That early experience set her on a path of continuous growth, from earning her Associate Degree in Nursing at Trocaire College to completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at D'Youville University and ultimately achieving her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of caring for individuals across a variety of healthcare settings, strengthening her clinical skills while deepening her commitment to treating the whole person, not just their physical health, but their emotional and mental well-being as well. Those experiences reinforced her belief that mental illness is treatable and that compassionate, evidence-based care can profoundly change lives.

Care philosophy

The values that guide Stella's practice are empathy, respect, compassion, and collaboration. She believes every patient deserves to be treated with dignity and without judgment, regardless of their background or circumstances. Stella uses an evidence-based, patient-centered approach to treatment, recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. She works collaboratively with her patients to develop individualized treatment plans that align with their goals, preferences, and values. Above all, she strives to empower her patients with the knowledge, support, and tools they need to achieve lasting mental wellness.

Personal interests

Stella has made the Houston area home and values the city's incredible diversity, vibrant culture, and strong sense of community. She enjoys exploring Houston's beautiful parks and trails, spending time near the Galleria, and discovering the city's local restaurants and cultural events. Outside of work, Stella loves singing, traveling, and exploring new places. She enjoys experiencing different cultures, trying new foods, and discovering unique destinations. These experiences help her stay balanced and broaden her perspective, and she encourages her patients to find activities that bring them joy, relaxation, and a sense of fulfillment.

What to expect

During your first session with Stella, you can expect a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you can share your concerns at your own pace. Her priority is getting to know you as a person, not just your symptoms. Together, you'll discuss what brought you to treatment, your current challenges, your history, and your goals for care. Stella believes in working collaboratively, so she'll take the time to answer your questions, discuss possible diagnoses when appropriate, and develop a personalized treatment plan. Her goal is to ensure you feel heard, informed, and empowered as you begin your journey toward better mental health.
