Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
With over a decade of clinical experience, a background in neuro-linguistic programming, and a lifelong passion for connecting with people across cultures, Mah Mekolle, PMHNP brings a uniquely well-rounded perspective to mental health care. She is as comfortable coaching someone through a difficult season as she is building a clinical treatment plan, and that versatility is something her patients benefit from every day.
Education and background
Mah earned her degree from Maryville University of St. Louis, Missouri, in 2021, building on over 12 years of experience as a registered nurse. She is also a certified Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming with over seven years of experience coaching clients on achieving mental and emotional well-being. In 2020, she received recognition for her work as a Health Trainer, coaching over a thousand frontline healthcare workers on self-care and coping during the COVID-19 crisis. She is also the editor of an online magazine and inspirational blog focused on mental health topics.
Care philosophy
Mah’s philosophy of care is rooted in compassion and understanding. She believes that every patient deserves to feel seen and supported on their mental health journey, and she draws on her deep well of clinical experience, NLP training, and personal insight to meet each person where they are. Her approach is empathetic, collaborative, and focused on helping patients feel empowered in their own healing.
At Serenity, Mah offers treatment through TMS therapy, ketamine therapy, and medication management. She is committed to providing a sense of understanding and genuine connection in every patient interaction.
Personal interests
In her free time, Mah enjoys writing and reading. She also loves learning new languages, a passion born from her childhood in Cameroon where she grew up speaking both English and French. Her best moments are spent with her husband and two boys. That love of connection, curiosity, and family is something her patients feel in the warm, engaged care she provides.
What to expect
In sessions with Mah, patients can expect a provider who is compassionate, culturally attuned, and genuinely invested in their well-being. She creates a welcoming space where you can share openly and feel confident that your care plan reflects your unique needs and goals.
