About Lisa Harding, PMHNP

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Feeling your best is not just a physical goal; it is a whole-person one. That belief has guided Lisa Harding, DNP, PMHNP-BC, from her earliest studies in nutrition and wellness all the way through her career in psychiatric mental health care. Lisa shows up as something her patients describe quickly and consistently as an ally. Someone who is genuinely, unconditionally on your team.

Education and Background

Lisa’s path into mental health care began at Brigham Young University, where she studied Fitness and Wellness Management with a focus on Sports Nutrition and earned a graduate degree in Mass Communications. Her research during that time centered on eating disorders and body image across the lifespan, an early signal of the whole-person philosophy that would define her career. She continued her nursing education at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Psychiatric Mental Health in her home state of New Mexico. She is board-certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through the ANCC.

Care Philosophy

Lisa believes that we can be as physically healthy as possible, but if the mental piece is struggling, we will never feel truly whole. Her treatment approach starts by asking a simple but powerful question: what does feeling your best look like for you? That answer becomes the roadmap. She puts the patient first in every decision, values the personal connection that makes real progress possible, and brings genuine curiosity to every story she hears. For Lisa, being heard by your provider is not a luxury; it is the foundation of recovery.

Personal Interests

A self-described mountains girl at heart, Lisa feels right at home in Utah’s big skies and year-round outdoor playground. She loves mountain biking, skiing, and running outdoors at whatever pace the day calls for and will freely admit she is not an expert. When she is home, she is a full homebody: cooking big meals from scratch and losing herself in a good book. Growing up as the youngest in a military family with three older brothers and later living outside the country and across different parts of the US, Lisa developed a genuine ease with people from all walks of life. That curiosity about others is still very present in the way she practices.

What to Expect

From your very first session, you will find someone who wants to understand what matters most to you, not just your symptoms. Lisa’s goal is to get to know you as a person, understand what your best looks like, and work with you to build a clear, individualized path toward it. You know your experience better than anyone. She is here to help you find direction, feel genuinely heard, and move forward with confidence. You will not find someone who simply manages your care from a distance. You will find a partner.
