Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
With clinical experience spanning addiction recovery, behavioral health, eating disorder treatment, and outpatient psychiatry, Emily Brookshire, PMHNP, brings an unusually broad perspective to mental health care.
Education and Background
Emily earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri–Columbia. Her clinical background includes work in women’s and infant services, addiction recovery, behavioral health, eating disorder treatment, and outpatient psychiatry. That range of experience has given her a deep understanding of the many ways mental health intersects with other aspects of a person’s life, and it shapes the thoughtful, well-rounded care she provides today.
Care Philosophy
Emily takes a holistic, collaborative approach to care, focusing on treating the whole person, body, mind, and spirit. She strives to create a safe, supportive environment where patients can explore their emotions, build resilience, and work toward their mental health goals at their own pace.
She believes that effective care starts with genuine connection and takes the time to understand each patient’s unique needs, experiences, and aspirations. Whether someone is navigating a new diagnosis or looking for a fresh approach to an ongoing challenge, Emily meets them where they are with patience and expertise.
Personal Interests
Outside of the clinic, Emily enjoys live music, theater, and outdoor activities like yoga and hiking while taking in Colorado’s beautiful scenery. She also loves relaxing at home with her sweet kitten. That balance of adventure and quiet moments keeps her grounded and energized for the care she provides every day.
What to Expect
In sessions with Emily, patients can expect a provider who is warm, thorough, and genuinely invested in their progress. She creates a welcoming space where you can share openly and feel confident that your care plan is tailored to your life and your goals. Emily welcomes patients from Denver and the surrounding Colorado communities.
