Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Elizabeth Zeker, PMHNP, has been part of the team since 2022. With over eight years of healthcare experience spanning roles from EMT to clinical researcher to registered nurse, Elizabeth brings a remarkably well-rounded perspective to psychiatric care. Her passion for the field is rooted in a simple belief: the journey to whole health begins with mental health.
Education and background
Elizabeth earned her degree from Boston College in 2021 and gained valuable early clinical experience at New Leaf Psychiatry in Randolph, MA and Providence, RI. Before entering psychiatric care, she built a diverse healthcare foundation through roles as an emergency medical technician, electrocardiogram and stress test technician, behavioral treatment technician, clinical research technician, and registered nurse. That breadth of experience gives her a unique understanding of how mental health intersects with every aspect of a person’s physical and emotional well-being.
Elizabeth’s connection to Serenity runs deeper than most. Before becoming a nurse practitioner here, she worked as a registered nurse at Serenity, where she saw firsthand the personalized attention each team member dedicates to creating a safe space for patients to heal. That experience made her want to stay and grow with the team.
Care philosophy
Elizabeth’s approach is evidence-based, patient-centered, and deeply customizable. She takes the time to become familiar with each patient’s values, beliefs, and experiences so she can deliver holistic treatment and support that fits their unique needs. She understands that mental health conditions often affect physical health, relationships, and involvement in school, work, and community, and she finds fulfillment in helping patients improve their quality of life across all of these areas.
At Serenity, Elizabeth offers treatment through TMS therapy, ketamine therapy, and medication management, ensuring her patients have access to a full range of effective options.
Personal interests
In her free time, Elizabeth finds joy in reading and being active outdoors. She takes pride in having completed a Half Ironman, a triathlon consisting of 70.3 miles of swimming, biking, and running, and one of her goals is to complete a full Ironman in the future. That determination and drive are qualities her patients benefit from every day.
What to expect
In sessions with Elizabeth, patients can expect a provider who is thorough, compassionate, and genuinely invested in understanding who they are as a whole person. She creates a welcoming space where you can share openly and feel confident that your care plan is tailored to your values, your experiences, and your goals.
