Elizabeth Rotella, NP is originally from Connecticut but has called Arizona home for the past 13 years. Her journey into mental health care began during nursing school when she realized the profound impact that early intervention and genuine care can have on someone’s life trajectory. She understood that by addressing mental health, you can truly transform lives. That realization became the foundation of her career, and mental health has been her focus ever since she started practicing as a nurse in 2013.
Elizabeth began her nursing education at a community college in Connecticut before moving to Arizona, where she completed her bachelor’s degree through Grand Canyon University. She went on to earn her master’s degree in nursing from Walden University, specializing in psychiatric mental health. Throughout her career, Elizabeth has worked exclusively in mental health settings, gaining experience with both adult and pediatric populations as a nurse before focusing on adult care as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
Elizabeth believes in a collaborative approach where you guide what happens and decide what your goals are. She’s here to help you get there by offering options and information. Her philosophy revolves around treating people the way she would want to be treated, and she doesn’t recommend anything she wouldn’t tell a loved one to do or wouldn’t do herself. Elizabeth brings a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to care, informed by her understanding of challenges many patients face, including ADHD, complex family dynamics, and navigating difficult relationships. Her empathy is grounded in both clinical and lived
experience. Elizabeth is passionate about using multiple approaches to address conditions, ensuring they’re acknowledged as significant rather than dismissed. She believes less is more when it comes to medication; everything has to be helpful and purposeful. Her goal is to help you feel like yourself, just in your own way.
Outside of work, Elizabeth is passionate about her rescue dogs and has a deep love for plants, tending to an impressive collection at home. She enjoys exploring different parts of Arizona to find patches of greenery in the desert and likes attending local festivals and community events. Elizabeth values living authentically and believes in treating others the way she’d want to be treated, a philosophy that extends from her personal life into her practice.
In sessions with Elizabeth, patients can expect a thorough understanding of what they’re dealing with and what would make their quality of life better. She knows that coming to therapy takes courage, especially during difficult times in your life, and she meets that courage with respect and validation. Elizabeth takes everything into consideration and respects your boundaries, going at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
