About Dr. Lan-Anh Tran, DO

Psychiatrist

With a medical education rooted in serving underserved communities and a psychiatry residency completed at one of the nation’s premier military medical centers, Dr. Lan-Anh Tran, DO, brings a unique combination of clinical depth, leadership experience, and genuine compassion to every patient she works with.

Education and background

Dr. Tran earned her medical degree from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) in Blacksburg, VA, where her training emphasized care for rural and underserved populations. In 2014, she commissioned into the U.S. Navy through the Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship Program and went on to complete her psychiatry residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

During her military service, Dr. Tran held several leadership and academic roles in military mental health care, providing clinical oversight, guiding mental health strategy, and training future healthcare professionals across a variety of settings. That combination of hands-on clinical experience and leadership responsibility continues to shape the thoughtful, well-rounded care she provides today.

Care philosophy

Dr. Tran’s expertise includes treating depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, and other mental health conditions. She takes the time to understand each patient’s full picture and works collaboratively to build personalized, evidence-based treatment plans. Her holistic approach recognizes that true healing involves more than managing symptoms alone, and she is committed to helping her patients build resilience and well-being that lasts. Her approach is holistic and collaborative, focusing on the integration of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being to support long-term healing and resilience.

Personal interests

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Tran enjoys exploring national parks, trying new restaurants, taking on home improvement projects, and spending quality time with her family. Whether she’s on a trail or tackling a renovation, she brings the same curiosity and hands-on energy to her personal life that her patients experience in every visit.

What to expect

In sessions with Dr. Tran, patients can expect a provider who is thorough, collaborative, and genuinely invested in their long-term well-being. She creates a space where you can share openly and feel confident that your care plan is personalized, holistic, and built to support real, lasting change.

I was skeptical about ketamine, but she took the time to explain it. It worked better than anything else I’ve tried.
