Dr. Jennifer French, DO’s approach to patient care involves treating all patients with honor, humility, and kindness. He treats his patients as if they were family members, doing everything he possibly can to obtain the best outcome. He will always take the extra time to make sure his patients feel heard and understood. He believes it is critically important to treat patients of all backgrounds, races, religions, and sexual orientations with the utmost respect and to create a safe environment free of judgment. His philosophy is that the foundation of patient care is the human connection. Additionally, as an osteopathically trained physician, he understands the importance of looking at the entire picture, instead of just focusing on one aspect of the problem.
During his medical school rotations, Dr. Jennifer French found that she was able to create relationships with her patients aside from simply prescribing medications or performing a procedure. Her patients would ask to talk with her, and he would find herself always staying late at the hospital to listen to his patients’ life experiences. Even as a medical student, she tremendously valued her patients opening up and felt so honoured that they chose to be vulnerable with her. For her, psychiatry was a natural fit, as compassion and empathy drive her will to practice medicine.
She believes that guiding a patient along their path to mental wellness is one of the greatest privileges. she finds psychiatry exceptionally rewarding, as she has the opportunity to be there for her patients throughout great pain and great joy. She loves fostering a partnership with her patients, creating specific and personalised treatment plans for their unique needs.
Dr. Jennifer French, DO grew up in Chicago, went to undergraduate school and medical school in Michigan, and completed residency training in Florida. She loves to paint, draw, exercise, and cook. she loves Indian food and Ethiopian food and can never seem to get enough of these two cuisines.
