With a neurobiology degree from Harvard and his medical training at Stanford, Dr. Ivan Mayor, MD, was drawn to psychiatry for its unique blend of science and human connection. He is passionate about helping people through life’s most challenging moments, and he brings that combination of academic rigor and genuine compassion to every patient he sees.
Education and background
Originally from Colorado, Dr. Mayor studied neurobiology at Harvard University before earning his medical degree and completing his psychiatry residency at Stanford University School of Medicine. His deep understanding of the brain’s biology, combined with world-class clinical training, gives him a distinctive perspective on psychiatric care that his patients benefit from every day.
Care philosophy
Dr. Mayor provides personalized, evidence-based care for depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and other mental health conditions. His approach is collaborative and patient-centered. He meets individuals where they are and works with them to create tailored, goal-oriented treatment plans. For Dr. Mayor, each visit is a conversation focused on exploring options and empowering patients with the strategies that will make the most meaningful difference in their lives.
At Serenity, he offers comprehensive psychiatric care including medication management, TMS therapy, and ketamine therapy for treatment-resistant conditions. He is committed to ensuring his patients have access to the full range of effective options and to building a plan that fits each person’s unique needs and goals.
Personal interests
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Mayor enjoys barbecuing with friends and family, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with his energetic Goldendoodle, Captain. That sense of connection, adventure, and balance is something his patients experience in the warm, engaged care he provides every day.
