Dr. Chris Gerwe, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist at Serenity Mental Health Centers in Biltmore, Arizona. Here he provides expert patient-centered care for anxiety, OCD, depression, ADHD, PTSD, and other mental health conditions. 

He completed both his medical degree and residency at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, where he cultivated a strong belief that effective mental health care is built on true collaboration between provider and patient. This foundation shaped his patient centered approach, emphasizing trust, communication, and individualized care. He remains deeply committed to offering his patients the highest quality treatment using the most current, evidence-based methods, ensuring each individual receives thoughtful, compassionate, and comprehensive care. 

Dr. Gerwe believes the field of mental health is only beginning to fully address the stigma surrounding treatment, and that this ongoing shift highlights the critical need for accessible, evidence-based care. He was drawn to mental health because of its rapidly evolving nature and its potential to profoundly impact patients’ lives. As research and clinical understanding continue to advance, he is confident that treatment approaches will only become more effective, allowing providers to deliver increasingly personalized and compassionate care. 

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Chris Gerwe enjoys spending time with his mini poodle and two tuxedo cats, who fill his life with both entertainment and humor. He values staying active and can often be found on the golf course or exploring hiking trails, while also making time to follow his favorite sports teams and attend live music events.
