Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
With over six years of clinical experience spanning ICU nursing and psychiatric care, Ben Harmon, PMHNP, brings a grounded, compassionate perspective to mental health. His time in critical care sharpened his understanding of the emotional and psychological challenges patients face alongside physical illness, and that insight fueled his passion for dedicated psychiatric treatment.
Education and background
Ben earned his Nurse Practitioner degree from Norwich University. Before transitioning into psychiatric care, he built a strong clinical foundation in the ICU, where he developed the ability to remain calm, focused, and attentive during high-stakes situations. That background gives him a steady presence that his patients appreciate, especially during difficult moments.
Care philosophy
Ben provides expert care for depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and other mental health conditions. He uses evidence-based practices combined with a patient-centered approach to build trusting relationships and create individualized treatment plans. His goal is to support long-term healing and promote sustained mental wellness, helping patients regain control and improve their overall quality of life.
He takes the time to understand each patient’s unique experience and works collaboratively to find the approach that fits their needs and goals. For Ben, effective care is built on trust, open communication, and a genuine investment in each person’s progress.
Personal interests
Outside of the clinic, Ben enjoys a range of creative hobbies, including cooking, playing electric guitar, gardening, woodworking, and painting. Those creative outlets help him stay balanced and inspired, and that sense of curiosity and groundedness is something his patients experience in every visit.
What to expect
In sessions with Ben, patients can expect a provider who is calm, attentive, and genuinely committed to their well-being. He creates a welcoming space where you can share openly and feel confident that your care plan is built around your individual needs and goals.
