Avis Holmes is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at Serenity Mental Health Centers with nearly a decade of nursing experience in medical-surgical, ICU, and OR settings. She brings a whole-person, trauma-informed approach to treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, mood disorders, and more—combining clinical expertise with empathy and evidence-based care.

Avis earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Brenau University and her Master of Science in Nursing in Psychiatric Mental Health from Valdosta State University. Her passion for mental health care was strengthened during a residency at the VA, where she gained critical experience working with veterans and individuals in both acute and long-term psychiatric care.
