Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
With over five years of psychiatric experience across a wide range of settings, from inpatient and crisis care to outpatient services, Alexandria Villarreal, DNP, PMHNP brings both clinical depth and genuine human connection to every patient she sees.
Education and background
Alexandria earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Arizona, building a strong foundation in psychiatric care that she has carried into every role since. Her experience spans some of the most demanding environments in mental health, including inpatient units, crisis stabilization, and outpatient programs. That breadth of experience allows her to meet patients wherever they are in their journey, whether they’re navigating a crisis or working toward long-term stability.
Care philosophy
Alexandria takes the time to understand each patient’s unique life experience, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual, to guide treatment that supports long-term growth and personal stability. She’s passionate about helping her patients make sense of what they’re going through, create structure around their goals, and feel empowered in their recovery journey. She believes in meeting patients where they are, whether they’re in crisis or simply looking to feel more like themselves again.
Personal interests
Outside the clinic, Alexandria loves spending time with her husband and two children, whether they’re at home enjoying the company of their royal-named cats, Louie and George, or off exploring new places together. She’s also a fan of thrillers and finds balance in both quiet moments and high-energy family adventures.
What to expect
Alexandria brings a caring, grounded energy to everything she does. Her patients appreciate her ability to hold space for difficult moments while encouraging progress, healing, and hope. In sessions with Alexandria, you can expect to feel welcomed by someone who truly listens, and who will work alongside you to build a plan that feels right for your life.
