Psychiatrist
With training in both general and forensic psychiatry and a deeply held belief in patient autonomy, Dr. Dustin Froehlich, MD, brings a thoughtful, informed approach to every patient interaction. He is passionate about helping people make confident, well-informed decisions about their own care, and that philosophy shapes everything he does.
Education and Background
Dr. Froehlich earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 2016 and completed his psychiatry residency at The Ohio State University, returning to his hometown of Columbus, Ohio. After finishing his residency in 2020, he stayed on at Ohio State for a one-year fellowship in forensic psychiatry. It was during his residency that he first had the opportunity to provide TMS to patients, an experience that left a lasting impression. Seeing people improve without the burden of common medication side effects showed him the power of interventional treatments, and he has been committed to offering those options ever since.
Care Philosophy
Dr. Froehlich’s care philosophy is built on a fundamental belief: every patient has the right to make informed decisions about their own treatment. He sees his role as working alongside each person to provide an accurate assessment of their diagnoses and a clear picture of their options, so they can choose the path that best aligns with their personal goals and values. He is especially passionate about helping patients minimize side effects, remove unnecessary medications, or find the right combination that works best for their life.
Personal Interests
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Froehlich enjoys hiking, camping, skiing, and a range of outdoor activities. He’s also a fan of chess and word puzzles, and he loves spending time with his wife and two children. A lifelong learner, he enjoys studying topics that interest him and is currently working on improving his intermediate Spanish with a goal of using it in his practice to better serve his patients.
What to Expect
In sessions with Dr. Froehlich, patients can expect a provider who is transparent, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to empowering them in their care. He creates a space where you can ask questions, weigh your options, and feel confident that your treatment plan reflects your values and your goals.
