About Kayla Cartwright, PMHNP
Kayla Cartwright, PMHNP, is a compassionate and highly skilled board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Serenity Mental Health Centers’ Desert Ridge location in Phoenix, AZ. With a deep commitment to providing patient-centered care, Kayla specializes in treatment-resistant depression and delivers comprehensive mental health services to patients of all ages.
Kayla’s professional experience includes serving as a REMS-qualified provider, where she guided patients through the complexities of treatment-resistant depression. In this role, she helped patients understand potential risks, side effects, and alternative treatment options, ensuring they were well-prepared to manage their care. Kayla also educated patients on self-administration techniques and closely monitored their progress to ensure the best possible outcomes.
In addition to her work as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, Kayla served as a Charge RN at Nationwide Children’s Hospital Psychiatric Crisis Department in Columbus, OH. This high-pressure role honed her ability to deliver expert care while prioritizing patient safety during psychiatric crises.
Kayla holds a Master of Science in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing from The Ohio State University, where she graduated with a 4.0 GPA. Her clinical training includes rotations at several mental health facilities, such as Youngstown Community Health Center Psychiatry, Lower Lights Christian Health Center, and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from The Ohio State University, achieving Scholars Distinction.
