ElizaBeth Sparkman, ARNP, FNP, PMHNP

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

About Andrew Nichols, NP

Andrew Nichols, NP has over 10 years of healthcare experience spanning both military and civilian nursing. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Andrew brings a sense of community to everything he does, and that same grounded, personal care carries into every patient interaction at Serenity.

Education and Background

Andrew earned his advanced practice degree from Texas State University and pursued specialized training in psychiatric mental health care. He served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, working as a Critical Care and En Route Care Nurse at Naval Hospital Okinawa and with the 3d Medical Battalion.
He joined Serenity drawn by the practice’s commitment to interventional treatments, including TMS and ketamine therapy, that go beyond conventional options to offer patients real, evidence-based paths forward.

Care Philosophy

Andrew approaches each session by staying present and grounded during even the most difficult moments. He meets every patient with understanding rather than judgment, and with care that is guided by clarity, honesty, and a genuine belief that treatment works best as a collaborative process.

What to Expect

In your first visit, Andrew will take time to understand what has been going on and what matters most to you before anything else. From there, you will build a plan together, one that feels manageable and effective. He listens closely and makes sure nothing important gets missed.

Personal Interests

When Andrew is not with patients, you will likely find him at the gym, reading a book, or practicing mindfulness. His greatest joy, though, is time with his kids, including volunteering at their school where he leads science experiments and happily takes on lunchtime duty.

About ElizaBeth Sparkman, ARNP, FNP, PMHNPP

ElizaBeth Sparkman grew up in Waco, Texas and now lives in Mico, where she enjoys its rural hiking trails and easy access to everything San Antonio has to offer, including the Alamo, the Riverwalk, the Mission Trail, and the SA Zoo.

Education and Background

ElizaBeth began her academic journey with a bachelor’s degree in music and education. Encouraged by her oldest child to pursue something more, she returned to school and earned her BSN and MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Allen College of Nursing. She went on to build her practice in rural Family Medicine, where she witnessed firsthand how underserved her communities were when it came to psychiatric care. That recognition sent her back to school once more to complete a post-graduate degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, a decision that came after the devastating Robb Elementary tragedy in Uvalde, where she was working at the time.

Care Philosophy

ElizaBeth believes that healing the brain means caring for the whole person, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. She brings a genuine commitment to health, nutrition, and wellness, because the brain is the organ that shapes everything about how we experience life. She is compassionate and honest, and her goal is to build a relationship of trust with every patient and work together toward a plan you both feel confident about.

Personal Interests

ElizaBeth is a wife, a mother of eight, and a grandmother of fifteen. She spent her early married years as a U.S. Air Force spouse, moving six times in eight years and learning to build community wherever life landed her. When she isn’t caring for patients, you might find her crocheting baby blankets for family and friends, reading a book, volunteering on the medical emergency committee at her church, or traveling with her husband to visit their children across the country.

What to Expect

Your first appointment with ElizaBeth is about laying a foundation, not rushing to solutions. She’ll take time to understand what you’re feeling, explore your history, and begin building a relationship of trust. She listens carefully, ensures that everything important to you is heard and understood, and works collaboratively with you to build a care plan tailored to your unique needs and goals.
