Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
With a background that spans emergency room work, psychiatric nursing, and a deep appreciation for different cultures, Rebecca Daniel, brings a warm, conversational presence to mental health care. She came into this field wanting to be more than a provider. She wanted to be an advocate for people who feel misunderstood, judged, or afraid to ask for help.
Education and Background
During her undergraduate studies, Rebecca worked in an emergency room in Oklahoma. She met many people who genuinely wanted to make a change in their lives but had very few places to turn. For many, the ER was the closest and sometimes only place to get help, and there were not enough mental health providers to meet the need.
Her direction became clear in nursing school. Of all her clinical rotations, she felt most connected to psychiatric patients, and what stood out was how much they shared with anyone else: the hope for a normal, meaningful daily life. She also met patients who were hesitant to seek care because of the stigma around mental health in some cultural communities, and she found she could relate to them.
Care Philosophy
Rebecca's care is guided by compassion, respect, trust, and collaboration. She believes every patient deserves to feel heard, understood, and respected, and she takes the time to learn who someone is beyond their symptoms. She works with each person to find an approach that fits their needs, goals, and comfort level, and she values cultural awareness as part of making care personal. As she sees it, her role is not to tell patients what to do, but to listen, educate, support, and help them find their path toward feeling better.
Personal Interests
Rebecca is a big foodie. She loves traveling and exploring new places through food. Richardson's culturally diverse food scene is one of her favorite things about the area, and since she's new to Texas, she's always open to recommendations. Her Doberman feels more like her child than her pet. On some Saturdays, Rebecca and her husband pack meals at Feed My Starving Children in Richardson, one of their favorite ways to spend a weekend together.
What to Expect
In sessions with Rebecca, patients can expect a natural, flowing conversation rather than a rigid format. You can share as much or as little as you feel ready to, and she lets the conversation move at a pace that feels right for you. Above all, she wants you to know that you're working on this together, and she will always do her part to listen, support, and guide you.
