Biography

Dr. Brad Zehring’s path into psychiatry was shaped by watching loved ones face mental health challenges and seeing firsthand the transformative impact that professional care can have. That experience instilled in him a lasting commitment to providing hope and healing to others, and it continues to guide every patient interaction he has today.

Dr. Zehring completed his undergraduate studies at Arizona State University, earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine (AZCOM), and completed his psychiatry residency at the University of Arizona, Phoenix Campus. He has held both clinical and administrative roles across the full spectrum of psychiatric care, from outpatient and partial hospitalization programs to residential treatment facilities and inpatient psychiatric hospitals.

Dr. Zehring also brings specialized expertise in eating disorders, having treated patients at every level of care and led teams on a national level. That breadth of experience allows him to meet patients wherever they are and to adapt treatment plans with the kind of flexibility and nuance that only comes from working across every level of care.

“My approach centers on seeing patients beyond their psychiatric diagnoses.”

His approach centers on seeing patients beyond their psychiatric diagnoses. He partners with each person to create lasting change by focusing on essential pillars of well-being: sleep, nutrition, relationships, and overall wellness. He believes that by addressing these foundational elements alongside clinical treatment, patients can find a path to improved mental health and a brighter future.

He stays at the forefront of emerging advancements in psychiatry so that his patients always have access to the most effective, cutting-edge care available. Every treatment plan he builds is personalized, collaborative, and designed around the individual’s specific needs and goals.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Zehring cherishes time with his wife, two children, and their beloved dog, Tucker. Whether they’re exploring Arizona’s hiking trails, enjoying family game nights, or traveling to discover new cuisines, he values the balance of family life and personal passions. He’s also an avid Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, finding the sport a unique way to connect mind and body while building resilience and community.

In sessions with Dr. Zehring, patients can expect a provider who looks at the whole person and partners with them to build a plan that addresses more than just symptoms. He brings deep clinical experience, genuine compassion, and a personal understanding of why mental health care matters.
