Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Courtney Bradley, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC, CEN brings over 20 years of trauma and emergency nursing experience to her mental health practice. Her extensive background caring for patients during some of the most critical moments of their lives has given her a deep understanding of both the medical and psychological dimensions of mental health.
Education and background
Courtney earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Los Angeles and her Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University in Chicago. She is also a Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) and spent most of her trauma and emergency nursing career at the world-renowned Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Her inspiration to pursue psychiatric care became deeply personal during her own pregnancy and postpartum experience during the Covid era, when she faced her own mental health challenges while navigating barriers to adequate care. That firsthand understanding of what it feels like to struggle, and the importance of finding a provider who truly gets it, drives her work with every patient she sees.
Care philosophy
Courtney believes in patient-centered care that honors each person's individuality, spirituality, culture, and personal preferences. Having walked her own mental health journey, she brings a genuine empathy to every interaction, one rooted in lived experience rather than textbook knowledge alone. She is also passionate about giving back, having volunteered as a nurse with Operation of Hope on surgical missions to Papua New Guinea, Zimbabwe, and Malawi, providing free surgical treatments to children with facial deformities. We don't just treat, we transform lives.
Courtney is a strong believer in the mind-body connection, and that holistic perspective shapes the compassionate, whole person care she provides today.
Personal interests
Courtney has made the Austin, Texas area home and loves being close to Hill Country, which she considers the most beautiful part of the state. She enjoys spending time outdoors during the warmer months, taking in the rivers, wildflowers, oak trees, and many places to hike and swim. When she's not working, Courtney spends her free time with her husband and two children. She's also an animal lover with chickens, a dog, a cat, and a turtle, and hopes to have a hobby farm soon.
What to expect
In sessions with Courtney, patients can expect a provider who is genuinely invested in their care. She loves getting a detailed history and takes the time to hear your full story. Courtney's office is a judgment-free zone where she encourages patients to be their authentic selves. She validates your feelings and makes sure your personal experiences are heard and understood. Having been in her patients' shoes, her goal is simple: to help you get the best possible treatment.
