About Andrew Nichols, NP

Andrew Nichols, NP has over 10 years of healthcare experience spanning both military and civilian nursing. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Andrew brings a sense of community to everything he does, and that same grounded, personal care carries into every patient interaction at Serenity.

Education and Background

Andrew earned his advanced practice degree from Texas State University and pursued specialized training in psychiatric mental health care. He served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, working as a Critical Care and En Route Care Nurse at Naval Hospital Okinawa and with the 3d Medical Battalion.
He joined Serenity drawn by the practice’s commitment to interventional treatments, including TMS and ketamine therapy, that go beyond conventional options to offer patients real, evidence-based paths forward.

Care Philosophy

Andrew approaches each session by staying present and grounded during even the most difficult moments. He meets every patient with understanding rather than judgment, and with care that is guided by clarity, honesty, and a genuine belief that treatment works best as a collaborative process.

What to Expect

In your first visit, Andrew will take time to understand what has been going on and what matters most to you before anything else. From there, you will build a plan together, one that feels manageable and effective. He listens closely and makes sure nothing important gets missed.

Personal Interests

When Andrew is not with patients, you will likely find him at the gym, reading a book, or practicing mindfulness. His greatest joy, though, is time with his kids, including volunteering at their school where he leads science experiments and happily takes on lunchtime duty.

About Charli Texada, NP

Charli is a Texas native from Mansfield, born and raised in the DFW area. She’s stayed close to her roots because her whole family is nearby, which she has loved as she raises her two young children. Having that support system close by has made DFW feel like the perfect place to build her life and career.

Education and Background

Charli earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Doctorate of Nurse Practitioner from Texas Christian University (TCU). Before transitioning to mental health, she spent five years as an ICU nurse, working on the frontlines throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. That experience opened her eyes to the growing need for mental health support, and she knew she wanted to continue serving on the frontlines by helping people heal in a different way. Her connection to mental health care goes beyond her professional background. Coming from a military family and completing a year-long residency at the VA in Dallas, Charli developed a deep understanding of the veteran community. Her work with veterans gave her meaningful insight into their experiences and reinforced the importance of delivering care that genuinely understands and honors where they’re coming from.

Care Philosophy

Charli is committed to truly listening and understanding what is beneath the surface. She thoughtfully asks follow-up questions and explores different parts of your story to see the full picture. Her holistic approach often includes supportive apps and practical lifestyle recommendations, looking at every angle to help you feel your best. Many younger women share that they connect with her because she’s relatable and genuinely understands what they’re going through.

Personal Interests

As a mom to a four-year-old and a one-year-old, Charli’s days are full. Between gymnastics, ballet, dance classes, and everything else her kids are into, she stays busy. Outside of family time, Charli is a dedicated runner who trains for marathons. She’s also a big Game of Thrones fan and enjoys watching TV.

What to Expect

In sessions with Charli, patients can expect someone who really takes the time to get to know them. She asks a lot of questions, not just about mental health symptoms, but about your whole life, because she believes that’s what paints the complete picture. She wants to hear about previous treatments, what’s worked, what hasn’t, and most importantly, what you’re hoping to achieve. Many of her patients have told her they’ve had providers who just never listened, and she gets that. She’s here to hear exactly what’s going on because she’s not treating just one thing; she’s treating a whole person with multiple interconnected challenges.
