Dr. Zachary Sullivan, MD

Psychiatrist

About Andrew Nichols, NP

Andrew Nichols, NP has over 10 years of healthcare experience spanning both military and civilian nursing. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Andrew brings a sense of community to everything he does, and that same grounded, personal care carries into every patient interaction at Serenity.

Education and Background

Andrew earned his advanced practice degree from Texas State University and pursued specialized training in psychiatric mental health care. He served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, working as a Critical Care and En Route Care Nurse at Naval Hospital Okinawa and with the 3d Medical Battalion.
He joined Serenity drawn by the practice’s commitment to interventional treatments, including TMS and ketamine therapy, that go beyond conventional options to offer patients real, evidence-based paths forward.

Care Philosophy

Andrew approaches each session by staying present and grounded during even the most difficult moments. He meets every patient with understanding rather than judgment, and with care that is guided by clarity, honesty, and a genuine belief that treatment works best as a collaborative process.

What to Expect

In your first visit, Andrew will take time to understand what has been going on and what matters most to you before anything else. From there, you will build a plan together, one that feels manageable and effective. He listens closely and makes sure nothing important gets missed.

Personal Interests

When Andrew is not with patients, you will likely find him at the gym, reading a book, or practicing mindfulness. His greatest joy, though, is time with his kids, including volunteering at their school where he leads science experiments and happily takes on lunchtime duty.

About Dr. Zachary Sullivan, MD

Finding the right mental health provider can feel overwhelming. Dr. Zachary Sullivan understands this, and he’s here to walk alongside you, not just directing you. With a collaborative approach rooted in deep empathy and medical expertise, Dr. Sullivan believes healing isn’t about being “fixed,” it’s about becoming the best version of yourself.

Education and Background

Originally from Midland, Texas, Dr. Sullivan didn’t always know psychiatry was his calling. After exploring various medical fields during his training at Oklahoma State University, he discovered his passion during his final rotation and hasn’t looked back since. He completed both his residency and fellowship training at UT Houston, where he developed expertise in child and adolescent psychiatry.

Dr. Sullivan’s dedication to mental health education runs deep. He served as Associate Program Director for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Texas Tech. He also led three hospitals in Oklahoma before joining Serenity Mental Health Centers.

Care Philosophy

When you sit down with Dr. Sullivan, you won’t receive a one-size-fits-all prescription. Instead, you’ll find a collaborative partner who listens. “This is not a situation where you come to me and I tell you what to do,” he explains. “This is you and I working together to find the best solution.”

Your past experiences matter. Your opinions matter. Whether you’ve tried medication for years and are seeking alternatives, or you’re considering treatment for the first time, Dr. Sullivan meets you exactly where you are.

Personal Interests

Dr. Sullivan brings his whole self to his practice, including his love for life’s simple pleasures. A self described “low-level nerd,” he appreciates staying active through golf and sports. He’s also a motorcycle enthusiast who finds peace on two wheels.

When he’s in Fort Worth, you might find him at Picci Pacchi in downtown, where he’s a regular at what he calls the best New York-style pizza in the DFW area. Whether it’s connecting over shared interests or simply creating space for you to breathe, Dr. Sullivan believes in building genuine, human connections.

What to Expect

In your first session with Dr. Sullivan, expect to be heard. Expect to be validated. And expect to leave feeling like you have a partner in your corner, someone who sees you as a person, not a diagnosis. Together, you’ll create a personalized treatment plan that honors your unique journey toward wellness.
