New hires support growing demand for psychiatric services
Phoenix, AZ — Serenity Mental Health Centers, a leader in innovative psychiatric care and one of the fastest-growing mental health providers in the nation, today announced the addition of two new providers at its Biltmore location and one at its Estrella location.
Dr. Christian Gerwe, MD, psychiatrist at Serenity’s Biltmore clinic, completed both his medical degree and residency at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, where he cultivated a strong belief that effective mental health care is built on true collaboration between provider and patient. He was drawn to mental health because of its rapidly evolving nature and its potential to positively impact patients’ lives.
After receiving her registered nursing degree, Dr. Marci Bastien, DNP, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at Serenity’s Biltmore clinic, continued her education and graduated from Arizona State University with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in 2014. She later earned her board certification as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Advances in health care and ongoing discoveries between the brain, body, and spirit continue to inspire her work.
After serving in the U.S. Air Force, Dr. Tracy Crews, MD, psychiatrist at Serenity’s Estrella clinic, pursued her medical training at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. During her psychiatric residency at Good Samaritan Medical Center (now Banner University Medical Center), she served as Chief Resident in her final year, further shaping her approach to patient care. Dr. Crews chose to work in mental health because it is where she has always felt a strong sense of purpose.
