Dr. Alexa Westbrook Quintanilla, DNP, is a dedicated psychiatric nurse practitioner at Serenity Mental Health Centers’ Fort Worth location. With deep roots in Texas and a passion for mental health advocacy, Alexa brings warmth, insight, and clinical expertise to every patient she serves.

Alexa earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington and her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Psychiatric Mental Health from Walden University. Her background includes years of experience in both public mental health and inpatient psychiatric care, where she served diverse populations, including women, men, and adolescents. As the lead nurse on a women’s mental health unit and a provider in high-acuity inpatient settings, she developed strong clinical judgment, trauma-informed care skills, and an unshakable commitment to meeting patients where they are.

At Serenity, Alexa treats a wide range of psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, and bipolar disorder. Her approach is holistic, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-based practice. She believes in seeing the person behind the diagnosis and builds each treatment plan around their goals, experiences, and identity. By combining medication management with attentive listening and patient collaboration, she empowers individuals to take control of their mental health in a way that feels both meaningful and sustainable.

Alexa’s work is deeply informed by her personal journey. Growing up in a multicultural household where mental health was rarely discussed, she developed a lifelong curiosity about the human mind and a calling to reduce stigma, amplify underrepresented voices, and advocate for holistic healing. Outside of work, Alexa’s most cherished role is being a mom and wife. She loves exploring the world with her family and has traveled to destinations across the U.S. and abroad. Whether she’s reading a novel, trying a new recipe, or discovering local food gems around Fort Worth, she brings the same curiosity and heart to her personal life that she brings to her work.
